When to use it
A single potassium/calcium result and medication flags do not establish a safe dialysate prescription. The previous rule automatically selected a 1 mEq/L potassium bath and could override hyperkalemia with a digoxin flag. Consider serial values, gradients, arrhythmia risk and the clinician's prescription.
