Cockcroft-Gault Creatinine Clearance Calculator
Estimate creatinine clearance (CrCl) using the Cockcroft-Gault equation. Although newer eGFR formulas exist, most drug labels still specify dose adjustments by Cockcroft-Gault CrCl.
When to use it
Use primarily for renal drug dosing, especially direct oral anticoagulants and renally-cleared antibiotics whose labels are written against Cockcroft-Gault. Consider an actual or adjusted body weight in obesity.
Formula
CrCl (mL/min) = ((140 - age) x weight x 0.85 if female) / (72 x serum creatinine in mg/dL).
